Biography

Nando Parrado is a Uruguayan aviator, author, and survival expert who survived a plane crash in the Andes Mountains in 1972. He and two companions, Roberto Canessa and Antonio "Tony" Vizintin, were the sole survivors of the crash, which killed the rest of the crew and passengers. Parrado's remarkable story of survival and rescue has inspired numerous books, films, and speaking engagements.
