Jean Dawnay

Biography

Jean Mary Dawnay, Princess George Galitzine, was a British fashion model, television personality, stage and film actress. Born in Brighton in 1925, she served in World War II with the Special Operations Executive and was later dubbed "The English Rose" by Christian Dior. Dawnay was a prominent figure in 1950s fashion and charity work, serving as vice president of UK Youth for 60 years.
