John Clarke

Biography

John Clarke, born in 1948 in Palmerston North, New Zealand, became known for his laconic farmer character Fred Dagg in the 1970s. Clarke's work as Dagg spanned stage, film, and television, with numerous records, books, and cassettes released under the character. He later transitioned to a successful collaboration with Bryan Dawe, working together until his death in 2017. Clarke's comedic talent also appeared in Australian and New Zealand film and television.
