Fanny Carby

Biography

Fanny Carby was a British character actress with a distinctive stage presence, co-founding Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop and starring in the landmark production of Oh, What a Lovely War, both on London's West End and on Broadway. She brought her talent to British television, playing memorable roles on Coronation Street and its spin-off Pardon the Expression. Her versatility was further showcased in film and TV shows including On The Buses and The Bill.
