Mel Carter is a veteran American soul and pop singer and actor, born on April 22, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio. At 16, he studied singing with Little Jimmy Scott, and by 24, he achieved his first hit with "When a Boy Falls in Love". His biggest success came with Imperial Records in the mid-1960s, including the gold-certified hit "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" in 1965.
