Biography

George Carl was a vaudevillian-style comic, clown, and eccentric dancer born in Ohio. As a teenager, he traveled with various circuses, eventually becoming internationally famous as a clown and visual comedian. His appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, at ages 69 and 79, were well-received and showcased his signature "silent bit" routine. He made his screen debut in the 1995 film Funny Bones.
