Biography

David Alan Johns, born 15 July 1956, is an English stand-up comedian, actor, and writer, best known for his breakthrough role as Daniel Blake in the 2016 Ken Loach film I, Daniel Blake. He has also written the stage adaptation of Stephen King's 'The Shawshank Redemption' and appeared on TV comedy panel shows such as 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and '8 Out of 10 Cats'. Johns has performed at various comedy festivals and has hosted the popular film discussion show "Desert Island Flicks". He is a regular guest with the Comedy Store Players on their improv show.
