Philippe Jordan is a Swiss conductor and pianist born on October 18, 1974, in Zürich. He studied piano at the Zürich Conservatory, earning honors in piano instruction at age 16. Jordan has conducted at prominent opera houses worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, and Opéra National de Paris, which he has led since 2009. He is also the principal guest conductor of the Berlin State Opera and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.
