Frances Chaney

Biography

Frances Chaney, born Fanya Lipetz in 1915, began her acting career at Provincetown Playhouse and later studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. She gained experience in radio, stage, and early television before becoming a Hollywood actress, appearing in films and TV episodes, including the notable role of Mrs. Cantrell in "Life with Mikey" (1993). Her career was also marked by her involvement with the Hollywood Ten, for whom she was blacklisted.
