Ginji Gaō

Biography

Ginji Gaō, born Ichida Akira on July 3, 1959, was a Japanese actor known for his roles in "Those Swell Yakuza" (1988) and "ミンボーの女" (1992), his final film before his untimely death from leukemia at age 33. After his diagnosis, he became a recluse, rarely performing due to his illness. Gaō was also a prominent figure in the theater world, directing the Osaka Battle Royale troupe.
