Benjamin Solomon Carson Sr. is a renowned American neurosurgeon, author, and politician. At 33, he became the youngest chief of pediatric neurosurgery in the US, and his groundbreaking work includes separating conjoined twins and performing the first neurosurgical procedure on a fetus. A pioneer in his field, Carson also revitalized hemispherectomy techniques and wrote over 100 neurosurgical publications.
