David Hurst
Biography
David Hurst was a German-born actor who, as a Jewish child, faced persecution by the Nazi regime before escaping to the UK as part of the Kindertransport in 1938-1939. He began his acting career in his teens, changing his name from Heinrich Hirsch to David Hurst, and later joined the British army during World War II, where he used his acting skills as a comedian. He is best known for his role as Rudolph Reisenweber in the 1969 film Hello, Dolly!.
