Born on June 30, 1974, in Denver, Colorado, Foster credits her upbringing in the affluent suburb of Plano, Texas, with introducing her to the entertainment world. She is a founder of the Foster Russell Family Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on inspiring free speech and social change through education and mentorship.
