Eiko Minami
Biography
Eiko Minami was a Japanese dancer born Sakae Gosha in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture in 1909. She began her career in theater, joining the Shōchiku Gakugekibu revue in Osaka in 1923, where she trained under Rikuhei Umemoto and Xenia Makletzova. Minami's most notable film appearance was as a dancer in Teinosuke Kinugasa's 1926 classic A Page of Madness, followed by her role in Tabigeinin in 1927, also directed by Yutaka Abe and Yasunaga Higashibōjō.
