Biography

David Michael Harewood OBE was born on December 8, 1965, in Birmingham to a Windrush-generation family from Barbados. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his acting career in 1990, before gaining recognition for roles in Homeland as David Estes and Supergirl as Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman. In recent years, he has taken on prominent stage roles, including Othello in a 2026 production, and has also led the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art since 2024.
