Biography

Enric Sala is a marine ecologist and conservationist, best known for his leadership of the National Geographic Society Pristine Seas initiative, a project dedicated to documenting and protecting marine environments. He has conducted 50 expeditions and contributed to the establishment of 31 marine protected areas. Sala earned a Ph.D. from Aix-Marseille University and held positions as a university professor before launching Pristine Seas in 2008.
