John Cameron Mitchell

Biography

John Cameron Mitchell was born April 21, 1963, in El Paso, Texas, to a U.S. Army general and Scottish mother. Raised on various military bases, he attended Catholic school in Colorado Springs before working as a theatre actor and director in New York City. He is known for directing Tennessee Williams' play and creating the iconic character of Hedwig, starring in both stage and film adaptations.
