Reizl Bozyk

Biography

Reizl Bozyk was a Polish-born American actress of the Yiddish theatre, born on May 13, 1914, in Poland. She began acting at age 5 with her parents and later starred alongside her husband Max Bozyk in hundreds of productions on the Yiddish stage in New York City and elsewhere. Her claim to mainstream fame came from her sole film role as Bubbie Kantor in Joan Micklin Silver's Crossing Delancey (1988). She also appeared in a memorable Law & Order episode "Night and Fog" in season 3.
