Biography

Joseph Isadore Lieberman was a trailblazing American politician and lawyer, serving as a US senator from Connecticut from 1989 to 2013. He was the Democratic Party's nominee for vice president in 2000, running with Al Gore, and became the first Jewish candidate on a major party presidential ticket. Lieberman championed significant legislation, including the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security.
