McKayla Maroney

Biography

McKayla Rose Maroney is an American former artistic gymnast born on December 9, 1995, in Aliso Viejo, California. She was a member of the Fierce Five team that won gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics and gold at the 2011 World Championships, becoming the first U.S. female gymnast to defend a World Championships vault title. Maroney also won three gold medals at the 2010 Pan American Championships, cementing her status as a gymnastics powerhouse.
