Karen Bass

Biography

Karen Bass is a seasoned politician and physician assistant, serving as the 43rd mayor of Los Angeles since 2022. Prior to her mayoral tenure, Bass represented California's 33rd and 37th congressional districts in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she chaired the Congressional Black Caucus. She previously held leadership positions in the California State Assembly, including serving as speaker from 2008.
