Chris Hondros was a renowned American war photographer born on March 14, 1970, in New York City to immigrant Greek and German parents. He graduated from Terry Sanford High School in 1988 and earned a master's degree in visual communications from Ohio University in 1993. Hondros was a finalist twice for the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography and spent most of his career covering international conflicts.
