Patti Austin is a multi-talented American singer and songwriter born on August 10, 1950, in Harlem, New York. As a child, she performed at the Apollo Theater and began her music career as a session singer, with notable collaborations with James Ingram, Steely Dan, and Quincy Jones. She has won a Grammy Award and received an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music, honoring her jazz roots.
