Sigrid Marquardt

Biography

Sigrid Marquardt was a renowned Austrian actress who debuted at the Wiener Burgtheater in 1955, initially with the role of India in Jean Anouilh's "Einladung ins Schloß". She went on to perform in over 40 productions at the Burgtheater, including Celia Peachum in Bertolt Brecht's "Die Dreigroschenoper" and Hippolyta in William Shakespeare's "Sommerliche Nacht Traume". Marquardt also toured with the Ensemble der Josefstadt to South America and New York, and performed at the Salzburg Festival.
