Jahar Ganguly was a renowned Indian actor and theater personality, born in 1904 in undivided 24 Parganas Dist, British India. He received the Best Actor award in 1943 for his performance in Bandi, and later collaborated with prominent directors Satyajit Ray on films like Parash Pathar and Chiriyakhana. Ganguly's breakthrough came in Dena Paona, and he continued to work in Bengali and Hindi films throughout the 1940s and 1950s.
