Biography

Benjamin Riley was a renowned American jazz drummer, known for his collaborations with iconic musicians such as Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk, and Alice Coltrane. A frequent member of the New York Jazz Quartet, he also played with the group Sphere and worked with pianist Abdullah Ibrahim. Riley's impressive discography includes performances with Randy Weston and Stan Getz, among others. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 84.
