Ross Williams is a surfing champion from Haleiwa, Hawaii, born in Toledo, Ohio, to a pipe welder father. At age six, he moved to Hawaii and began surfing, going on to win the boy's division of the 1988 United States Championship. A nine-year world circuit career followed, with his highest finish at 15th place in 1995, 1997, and 1999.
