Kim Jong-nam

Biography

Kim Jong-nam was the eldest son of North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, considered the heir apparent from 1994 to 2001. He fell out of favor after a 2001 trip to Tokyo Disneyland with a false passport and later became an occasional critic of his family's regime. Exiled from North Korea, he was later assassinated in Malaysia on February 13, 2017, with the nerve agent VX.
