Biography

Maureen Beck is a pioneering American mountaineer born without her left hand, who has won six national titles and a gold medal at the 2014 Spanish Paraclimbing World Championships. The documentary "Stumped" (2018) highlighted her climbing career, while she was named National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2019. Beck is also a specialist in adaptive climbing and manages the adaptive team for U.S.A. Climbing.
