Michael Charles Chiklis is an American actor born on August 30, 1963, in Lowell, Massachusetts. He is best known for his role as Los Angeles Police Department Detective Vic Mackey on the FX police drama The Shield (2002–2008), earning a Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe nomination. Chiklis has also starred in other notable roles, including Ben Grimm/The Thing in the Fantastic Four films and Commissioner Tony Scali in The Commish.
