Marquise Vilson

Biography

Marquise Vilsón is a native New Yorker born in 1981, who grew up in poverty in the Bronx during the HIV/AIDS pandemic and crack epidemic. As a trans man, he came out to his family and dropped out of school at 16. Vilsón's experiences as a Black and masculine-presenting youth in New York are the subject of the 2005 documentary The Aggressives. He has since become an actor and activist.
