Anatoly Borisovich Chubais is a Russian-Israeli politician and economist, known for his role in introducing a market economy and private ownership to Russia after the Soviet Union's collapse. As a key figure in Boris Yeltsin's administration, he headed the Russian Nanotechnology Corporation and RAO UES from 2008 to 2020. Chubais was appointed a special envoy for Russia's Sustainable Development Goals in 2020, but resigned in 2022 amid opposition to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
