Geraldyn Meron "Jerrie" Cobb was a pioneering American pilot and aviator, known for being part of the Mercury 13 and holding multiple aviation records, including the 1959 world record for non-stop long-distance flight and the 1960 world altitude record for lightweight aircraft. Cobb was also recognized as one of nine women of the "100 most important young people in the United States" by Life Magazine in 1960.
