Biography

Mary Wallace Funk, born February 1, 1939, was a trailblazing aviator and space tourist who shattered records in her later years. As one of the Mercury 13, she became an air safety investigator, civilian flight instructor, and Federal Aviation Inspector. At 82, she made history as the oldest person to go to space on July 20, 2021, aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard spacecraft.
