John le Carré
Biography
David John Moore Cornwell, known by his pen name John le Carré, was a British author of espionage novels widely regarded as one of the greatest novelists of the postwar era. He worked for MI5 and MI6 during the 1950s and 1960s, which informed his sophisticated and morally ambiguous writing style. His third novel, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1963), became an international best-seller and led to a successful transition to full-time authorship.
