David Burtka

Biography

David Michael Burtka is an American actor and chef born on May 29, 1975, in Dearborn, Michigan. He trained at Interlochen Center for the Arts, the University of Michigan, and William Esper Studios, before making his television debut in 2002 with a guest role on The West Wing. Burtka won the 2001 Clarence Derwent Award for most promising male performer, and also originated roles in musicals such as The Opposite of Sex and Gypsy.
