Lilly Ledbetter

Biography

Lilly Ledbetter was a pioneering American activist born Lilly Lynn McDaniel in 1938. She became a household name after being the plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court case Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in 2007, leading to the passage of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009. A strong advocate for women's equality, Ledbetter was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 2011.
