Biography
At 29, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez became the youngest woman to serve in the US Congress, taking office with a progressive platform that includes support for worker cooperatives, Medicare for All, and a Green New Deal. She drew national attention in 2018 after defeating 10-term incumbent Joe Crowley in the Democratic primary election, becoming the first female member of the Democratic Socialists of America elected to Congress.
