Zhang Li

Biography

Zhang Li is a Chinese director and cinematographer born on April 1, 1957, in Tangshan, Hebei. He studied at the Beijing Film Academy, alongside notable peers, and began his career as a cinematographer, collaborating with Feng Xiaogang on several films. Zhang made his directorial debut with Jungle Escape in 1986, followed by notable works including Towards the Republic (2001) and Young Marshal (2014).
