Mark Synnott

Biography

Mark Synnott is an American professional rock climber and author, known for his groundbreaking first ascents around the world. He is an internationally certified mountain guide and member of The North Face athlete team, and has climbed with fellow athlete Alex Honnold on numerous expeditions. Synnott's book, The Impossible Climb, was inspired by Honnold's 2017 free solo climb of El Capitan, while his 2021 book, The Third Pole, documents his expedition to search for Sandy Irvine's body on Mount Everest.
