René Costa was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, to Greek Cypriot parents, and the family relocated to the UK during a tumultuous period in Cyprus' history. Costa's father, an entrepreneur, had his own nightclub, and the young actor's early life was marked by the country's complex politics and the memories that shaped him. He has maintained a long-lasting marriage and raised three great children, and now enjoys a fulfilling life.
