Anatoly Karpov is a renowned Russian chess player and former World Chess Champion, reigning from 1975 to 1985. A six-time winner of Chess Olympiads as a member of the USSR team and three-time FIDE World Champion, he dominated the sport for over two decades. With a peak Elo rating of 2780, Karpov is one of the greatest players in history, holding numerous records and accolades, including nine Chess Oscars.
