Elizabeth Anne Holmes is a biotechnology entrepreneur who founded Theranos in 2003. Her company's valuation soared in the early 2010s, with Forbes naming her the youngest and wealthiest self-made female billionaire in 2015. However, accusations of fraud and regulatory investigations led to a decline, culminating in a 2018 SEC charge against Holmes and Theranos. She was convicted of fraud in connection with her health technology company.
