Ben Bernanke is a renowned American economist who served as the 14th chairman of the Federal Reserve from 2006 to 2014. He oversaw the Fed's response to the 2008 financial crisis and was named Time Person of the Year in 2009. A distinguished fellow at the Brookings Institution, he also chairs the Department of Economics at Princeton University, where he previously taught from 1996 to 2002.
