Biography

Matsumoto Hakuō II, born on August 19, 1942 in Tokyo, Japan, is a renowned kabuki actor and tachiyaku. He made his stage debut at three under the name Matsumoto Kintarō II and later succeeded his father to the name Matsumoto Kōshirō in 1981. A graduate of Waseda University, Hakuō II has performed in notable roles such as Ukon Takayama in "Gô-hime" (1992) and Lord Oda in "Rikyu" (1989).
