Jerry Lee Lewis

Biography

Jerry Lee Lewis was a trailblazing American pianist and singer who, nicknamed "The Killer", embodied the raw energy of early rock and roll and rockabilly music. With hits like "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" and "Great Balls of Fire", he shot to worldwide fame in the late 1950s. A pioneer of the genre, Lewis's popularity waned following a scandal surrounding his marriage to his 13-year-old cousin, Myra Gale Brown.
