Biography
Buddy Holly was a pioneering figure of mid-1950s rock and roll, influenced by gospel, country, and rhythm and blues acts. After opening for Elvis Presley in 1955, he pursued a music career, writing and recording many songs that defined the traditional rock-and-roll lineup.
