Yan Huaili was a Chinese actor born on July 24, 1936, in Hebei province. He rose to fame for his portrayal of Sha Wujing in the 1986 television series Journey to the West, one of the most watched series in mainland China at the time. Yan later appeared in notable roles such as Cheng Pu in Romance of the Three Kingdoms and starred in a 1993 film, Yi tin to lung gei: Moh gaau gaau jue.
