Biography

Yury Bykov was born in 1981 in Novomichurinsk, Russia, to a family of factory workers. He studied acting at VGIK and began writing and directing short films in 2006. His breakthrough came with the feature film "The Major" (2013), followed by "The Fool," which won numerous awards, including Best Actor Leopard at Locarno Film Festival. Bykov continues to write and direct films, also acting in several of his projects.
