Biography

Álvaro Paulo Francês de Matos, known professionally as Paulo Matos, is a Portuguese actor and theatre director born on July 28, 1960, in Tortosendo, Covilhã. He holds degrees from the École Supérieure de Théâtre et Cinéma de Lisbon and the Sorbonne Paris III, and has received post-graduate training in Theatre Management and Opera Direction. Matos has had a long and distinguished career in theatre, cinema, and television, with notable roles in "The Strange Case of Angelica" (2010) among others.
